Are you keen to work alongside talented and fun colleagues in an informal culture with a strong international vibe? Then BASE life science is likely to be the exact right platform for your continued growth and accelerated career aspirations.

Why do we need you? And why choose BASE?

We experience an increasing demand for our people and services, so our business is scaling rapidly. We are keen to develop a strong pipeline of talent from within, giving people a great opportunity to learn and grow, with plenty of opportunities to develop their career and skillset on an ongoing basis.

With an early career position, we want to give recent graduates the opportunity to join an ambitious team and develop great consulting skills, while creating real value from digital platforms and data across all the amazing life sciences companies that we are proud to call our clients.

You will receive training and build knowledge and invaluable experience, giving you the opportunity to develop professionally within consulting, project management, and technology from vendors specialising in the life sciences industry (Veeva, IQVIA and others).

BASE was founded in Denmark as a boutique consultancy, offering services exclusively to the life sciences industry. Growth has always been part of our DNA, and international growth has been strong on our agenda lately. Less than two years ago, BASE counted 59 people with only one person based outside of Denmark – now we are 150 people and counting. Approximately a third of us are based across 8 different countries outside of Denmark. Our journey is challenging, exciting and a whole lot of fun, so come join us!

What will your role look like?

Your employment will begin with a structured onboarding, equipping you with skills and tools related to navigating projects in the life science industry, project management frameworks, and relevant IT system certifications.

You will be working with driving changes in systems and processes alongside experienced colleagues. All projects are unique, but as a Consultant you will become part of a delivery team and carry out tasks that include:

  • Analysing and benchmarking IT solutions
  • Developing and documenting IT and Business processes
  • Facilitating workshops (requirement gathering, feature prioritization, process development, etc.)
  • Coordinating cross-functional project activities (project planning, activities tracking, status meetings)
  • Mapping and transforming data across systems
  • Carrying out test activities
  • Preparing change management strategies and training materials
  • Advising clients on navigating the digital landscape within the life science industry

Your level of responsibility will grow as you get to know BASE and our field of expertise with help from your manager and colleagues. The goal is for you to become part of different projects along the pharmaceutical value chain, as you shape and settle into your career at BASE.

We would guess this is true about you

You are probably a recent graduate (within the last 2 years) with a degree in business, finance, economics, mathematics, information technology, or engineering – likely with above average academic achievements. You are not expected to have work experience in life sciences, but you probably identify with the following characteristics:

Eager to learn: You have a proactive mindset and acquire knowledge quickly

Quality mindset: You take responsibility for your work, accept that mistakes happen, and know that sharing and learning from them is important

Excellent communication skills: You find it natural to facilitate conversations, enforce structure, and like breaking down complex matters into concrete, understandable pieces. Also, you need excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (Danish is not required), as you will work with both colleagues and clients across countries and nationalities

Excellent interpersonal skills: You are proactive and keen to deliver an outstanding experience for colleagues and clients alike, and you exercise effective judgment, sensitivity to cultural differences, and creativity to address changing needs and situations with the ability to manage competing priorities

Driven: You are highly motivated, confident, and ready to make a difference

Team player: You enjoy being part of a team, know how to read a room, and you connect with new people easily

Above all, your high energy and passion along with your mindset and attitude will qualify you for the role. We want you to have a growth mindset and a wish to acquire new skills. A can-do-attitude is a must and providing innovative thinking to develop disruptive approaches would make you top our chart.

A strong purpose and culture behind our aspirations

On a daily basis, the life sciences industry plays a significant role in improving quality of life – or even saving lives – for millions of people all over the world. We find this to be a highly motivating purpose, not least how the use of technology and data increases the potential impact of the industry exponentially. BASE life science is a consulting and technology company providing management consulting and technology and data expertise to clients across the life sciences industry in Europe and beyond. We help our clients create real business value from technology and data – by simplifying business processes, enriching interactions with health care practitioners, fast-tracking research and development, and reducing time to market for important new products.

Our people and culture are uniquely defined by incredibly talented professionals and a highly informal way of interacting internally. BASE is characterised by a low power distance, skateboards in the hallways, and a CEO in t-shirts. Having fun at work is important to us, and many of us consider our colleagues our second family. We are certified as a Great Place To Work® and are particularly proud to outperform even the toughest benchmarks when it comes to giving our people a lot of responsibility and trusting them to do a great job without watching over their shoulder.

Our Danish office is currently based in Lyngby, but in March we will move our HQ to new offices in Copenhagen (Østerbro). Regardless of where we reside, we offer great flexibility with regards to where and when you work. Whether you are at the office often or less so is up to you – just as you can plan your work hours according to your need and preferences, as long as the majority is within normal office hours.
