About the role

As R&D Sales Director, you have the opportunity to work with cutting edge technologies through our partnerships and with custom developed systems.

From molecule to market, you will help to connect technology, people, and data in new ways to generate real-time insights, improve speed to market & business outcomes for our US clients.

You will be reporting directly to the General Manager of BASE life science in the US.


What will you do?

More specifically, we are looking for a R&D Sales Director US, who knows our regulated life science industry, and can lead and grow our R&D offerings in the US. As a Sales Director your main tasks will be to successfully develop and grow our footprint in the United States.

You are an entrepreneur by heart and will be given the chance to build and drive a sales organisation in US. Since this is a new role, you will get the opportunity to work with a broad array of assignments, from business development, sales and contract agreements, stakeholder management (customers, partners & internal) and in building a state-of the art R&D sales team in the United States.

Your primary responsibilities will therefore be:

  • Business Development
    • Sales: hunting new and farming existing clients, positioning of BASE offerings, contract agreements and negotiations.
    • Already existing clients account management.
  • Organization: Build and scale an R&D sales organisation fit for coming US assignments in the R&D area from early Labs, Clinical, Quality, Regulatory & Safety for the Life Science market spanning from emerging biotechs to established pharma companies.
  • US Partnerships management together with our Global Head of Partnerships.


What makes you the best person for this job?

  • 10+ years of consultancy experience with a track record of supporting the adoption and implementation of digital projects, e.g., technology/digital transformation programs for the document management systems in the pharma and/or biotech industry.
  • 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or life science related RD activities, having delivered/taken part in multiple projects in this area.
  • Be able to demonstrate the ability to understand and relate to client needs, translating them into winning proposals that address unique challenges effectively.

You bring the qualifications: 

  • Bachelor or Master´s degree.
  • In depth knowledge and interest of the regulated part of the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, preferably proven experience in collaborating effectively across different teams and levels in a matrix Organization. Plan and deliver well-structured oral and written communications.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage, inspire, and motivate a team.
  • Hands on Experience working as consultant in the emerging biotech, pharmaceutical and/or life science industry with a focus on Document Management Systems and regulations. 
  • Experience with document management platforms like Veeva, Documentum, Trackwise, Oracle, Argus, Impact, Medidata etc.
  • Proven track record of developing new offerings for clients.
  • Proficiency in identifying and solving problems and implementing effective solutions.
  • Cross-cultural competence with an ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
