About the role

This is a Senior role designed to provide program leadership to deliver strategic technical solutions that address complex client issues in the Life Sciences industry. As a Program Management Lead you will be handling projects and programs with regards to technology implementation to achieve desired outcomes and ensure successful business growth and regulatory compliance. You will also seek new business opportunities to help BASE life science grow its presence within existing and new customers.

As Program Management Lead, you will provide program/project management oversight for all customer implementations falling under the Program Management team’s scope. You will be involved in coaching and mentoring teams and contributes to driving technical thought leadership. Moreover, you need to possess technical skills and knowledge to focus on technical implementation of medium to large programs (1-10million Euros) and further, designs and structure customer reports and presentations to provide simple but effective summaries of status.

As a Program Management Lead your responsibilities include:

Providing oversight of all programs under the Program Management team including:

  • Monitoring program status including milestones, risks, issues, budgets, etc.
  • Acting as a delivery escalation point and proactively ensuring escalations are handled promptly with a clear action and communication plan.
  • Providing frequent updates to the VP of End-to-End Solutions for all programs in scope.
  • Providing executive level summaries for senior executives in BASE life science.
  • Intervening, when necessary, to ensure costs, timelines and quality are on track.
  • Ensuring program governance is appropriate for the scale and scope of the engagement.
  • Creating effective collateral that can be used on RFPs.

 

Raising the Program Management capability within the team and creating governance/standards around:

  • Providing direction and mentorship to more junior level program/project managers.
  • Risks and issues management.
  • Revenue, budget and margin tracking.
  • Cost efficiency and optimisation.
  • Change request management.
  • Resource management.
  • Internal and external reporting.
  • Customer liaison.
  • Meeting timelines, activities and quality criteria.
  • Increase team utilisation and meet BASE life science targets.

 

Delivering Programs/Projects as per Customer requirements:

  • Lead cross-functional teams in the implementation of a full product development life cycle.
  • Take projects from original concept through final implementation and handover to support.
  • Interface with all areas affected by the program.
  • Define program scope and objectives. Ensure detailed reviews and analysis of customer requirements are conducted.
  • Design and deliver effective reporting and presentations internally and externally.
  • Build trust with the customer in working towards their strategy/vision and providing KPIs to measure against this outcome.
  • Work effectively with BASE life science partners.
  • Provide regular follow-ups with the customer to ensure customer satisfaction is being met.

 

We offer this position in United Kingdom, Denmark and Spain.

 

What makes you the best person for this job?

You will possess:

  • 7+ years of professional experience in the delivery of large (10+ million Euros) programs.
  • Solid experience as Program Manager/Lead including demonstratable experience in program planning, Budget management, risks and issues management, resource management, dependency management and reporting.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with customers and raise confidence in ability to deliver to time, quality and cost.
  • High energy level, intelligence and maturity
  • Ability to work in a global team environment, building and maintaining a network of contacts across our customer base and partners.
  • Collaborative team worker who creates a climate of cooperation and inclusion across all functions and geographies.
  • Good leadership, presentation and influencing skills over peers, business partners and senior executives.
  • Demonstrates ownership, accountability and proactivity to urgent situations.
  • Ability to work simultaneously on multiple programs/projects and priorities.
  • Strong finance/budgeting skills.
  • Broad knowledge of technology/services solutions and trends for the pharmaceutical/healthcare/life sciences industry.
  • Knowledge of working on Bids and leading RFPs.

 

On top of this, you have the following competences:

  • Ability to manage work streams, assigning tasks and driving them to completion.
  • Ability to network internally to find opportunities to get involved in.

It will be a plus if you have a PMI PMP/ACP or PRINCE 2 accreditation.
